BoxMate partners with TeamUp to provide additional functionalty for Martial Arts facilities like grade tracking, promotions, communications, session plans and more.
Before following this guide, you should have already signed up for a TeamUp account and purchased a membership. At that point, you are ready to switch to using BoxMate as your daily app, which includes all TeamUp features.
In a Martial Arts facility, there are 2 ways that BoxMate can be used, and both have a slightly different method for signup:
As a parent, using the app to manage your children's bookings/grades
As an adult, using the app to manage your classes and track your own progress
1️⃣ Signing up as a parent where the membership is on a child account:
1) Follow this link to download the BoxMate app - https://app.boxmateapp.co.uk
2) Open the app and select the register tab (Middle Bottom)
3) Enter your details manually selecting your facility from the dropdown list
4) After selecting register, wait for your coach to approve your account and enter your initial grade (You will recieve an email once approved)
5) When approved, login to BoxMate and then from the home screen tap to connect your TeamUp caccount once which will then let you book your classes from the timetable (Second Tab Bottom)
Do not select Use TeamUp here when registering, as auto approval doesn't work for family managers where the membership is on a child account.
Switching Between Children/Family Accounts
When you sign up as a family manager you can switch between which TeamUp account you are controlling for class bookings and also seeing current/upcoming grades. In the Timetable, TeamUp page or Grades page you will see the above family switch where you can tap to change which TeamUp customer/child from your manager account your BoxMate is currently controlling (This remembers uyour selection next time so remember to always check who you are in control of)
2️⃣ Signing up as an adult for your own training:
1) Follow this link to download the BoxMate app - https://app.boxmateapp.co.uk
2) Open the app and select the register tab (Middle Bottom)
3) Select "Use TeamUp" and enter your TeamUp account details here to log straight into BoxMate (Requires an account and active membership)
4) You will be auto logged in and your accounts connected ready to start booking
Booking Classes
BoxMate will now be your day-to-day app for booking classes for yourself/family members, which can be done from the home screen widget or the second bottom tab - timetable.
Grade Tracking
Tap the grade tracking tab (3rd Bottom) to view your current grade, upcoming available promotions and training data. If you are a family manager here you can switch to view each childs data.
By using BoxMate, when you get promoted, you will be notified, receive the new grade in the app which other members will be able to see and congratulate you for.
Recording Your Training
If your coach has enabled this option you will be able to log your training sessions under the 3rd top menu item "Sessions" when on the grades tab and even track your rounds/matches and progress.
If you don't want other members to see your training activity like logged sessions, badges and promotions, you can turn activate private profile option from the icon top left of the home tab.
Other Bits
Your coaches use BoxMate to send in-app news, communications and other valuable content as part of your membership. You can set your own personal goals, view and interact with other members progress in the activity feed (4th tab bottom) and much more.
