There are two ways to add a new exercise:
From the Exercise Library by clicking Add New in the top-right corner.
While building a session by clicking the Search button and selecting Add Exercise from the popup.
Any exercise you create will be:
Added to your BoxMate exercise library for future use.
Added directly to the session you're currently building.
BoxMate supports a range of exercise types, including:
Weight
Reps
Time
Calories
This flexibility allows you to create and track almost any exercise format required for your programming.
Creating a Complex:
Complexes allow you to combine multiple movements and reps into a single exercise.
To create a complex;
Select Weight as the exercise type.
Select Complex as the origin (this is important as this removes the rep max option and allows you to add numbers in the exercise name)
Enter the exercise name.
For example:
1 Power Clean + 2 Front Squats + 2 Push Press
Then click Save.
The complex will now be available in your exercise library and can be programmed again in future sessions.
Adding a New Rep Max:
If you want to create a new rep max variation for an existing movement, for example Front Squat - 6RM, you can easily do so;
Select Weight as the exercise type.
Select Olympic Lifting as the origin.
Enter Front Squat as the exercise name.
Set the rep count to 6.
You'll also see an option to Automatically add other rep maxes.
Tick this if you're creating a completely new movement and want BoxMate to generate multiple rep max variations automatically.
Leave it unticked if you're only adding a specific rep range, such as a 6RM.
The click Save.
Your new rep max variation will now be available whenever you programme Front Squats.
Creating a Test Exercise:
Test exercises are ideal for benchmarking athlete performance and tracking progress
One example; Max Pull-Ups in 1 Minute
Select Reps as the exercise type.
Select Gymnastics as the origin.
Enter the exercise name: Max Pull Ups in 1 Minute
Click Save.
You can then programme this test in sessions and retest it whenever needed to view progress overtime.
Once saved, your exercises stored in your BoxMate library and can be used repeatedly across your programming.
When members log results against that exercise, BoxMate automatically stores their performance history, allowing them to track progress and compare results over time whenever the exercise appears again.
