📝 Overview

Perform Live is a web application optimised for large screens that displays your sessions, workouts, and leaderboards in the gym.

To get it running you need a screen, an internet connection, and a device to run a web browser. This guide covers the different setup options available so you can choose the one that works best for your facility.

☑️ Requirements

Depending on your planned setup, you will need one or two HD TVs with HDMI, Wi-Fi access, and a small shelf for equipment. We recommend 50-inch screens or larger to ensure the display is clear for both coaches and members.

⚠️ Perform Live works with many smart TVs and devices, but compatibility and performance cannot be guaranteed, please test before purchasing equipment. You will need a mouse (physical or on-screen) to control the application, and a keyboard is optional but recommended for shortcut access.

We recommend using Chrome from a laptop if mirroring to a TV.

1️⃣ Option 1 - Google Chromecast

If you have a computer or laptop in the gym, you can cast Perform Live to your TV using a Chromecast connected via Google Chrome's built-in casting feature.

Perform Live includes a Standalone Mode which automatically cycles through components and programmes, making this option ideal for a display-only setup.

To use this setup, open Perform Live in a Google Chrome browser on a computer or laptop and cast the tab to your Chromecast-connected TV.

⛔️ This setup requires a computer or laptop with Google Chrome. It cannot be used with an iPhone or iPad.

By default this acts as a standalone display only - it does not include a keyboard or remote for coaching interaction. If you want to use it as your main coaching display, you could purchase a wireless keyboard and trackpad/mouse to connect to the computer.

⚠️ Performance note: The computer running the cast will be largely unusable while Live is in use. There may also be a lag between input devices (keyboard/remote) and the screen depending on your wireless network.

2️⃣ Option 2 - Existing Computer or Laptop

If you already have a computer in the gym that can connect to a TV, you can run Perform Live directly in a browser without any additional hardware.

Perform Live is a web application that runs through any modern browser, optimised for large screens. Connect your computer to a TV via HDMI, open your browser, and navigate to live.boxmateapp.co.uk.

For the best coaching experience, use a wireless keyboard with trackpad/mouse and optionally a wireless remote to control the screen from across the gym.
