Troubleshooting Push Notifications

This guide covers how to enable, test, and customise push notifications in the BoxMate app if you are not receiving them.

If you are not receiving push notifications from BoxMate, there are a few quick steps you can follow to diagnose and fix the issue.

This guide walks you through checking your notification status, enabling notifications, running a test, and customising which notifications you receive.

⚠️ Before starting, make sure you are on the latest version of the BoxMate app. See the guide on getting the latest version here.


✅ Enabling Push Notifications

To check if push notifications are enabled, navigate to Burger Menu (top left of Homepage) ➜ Support. If you see the word "Disabled" underneath Push Notifications, tap Enable Notifications and follow the steps below.

After tapping Enable Notifications, a pop-up will appear. Tap Allow to give BoxMate permission to send you notifications.

A second pop-up will let you know a test notification will arrive within 20 seconds. Tap Okay and wait. Once the test notification appears, tap Okay again to dismiss.

Head back to the Support page - you should now see "Enabled" underneath Push Notifications.

💡 If notifications already show as "Enabled" but you are still not receiving them, tap Update and Test on the Support page.

This re-enables notifications and sends a test - you should receive it within 20 seconds.

Once notifications are enabled, you can choose exactly which types you want to receive.

Navigate to Burger Menu (top left of Homepage) ➜ Preferences. Scroll down to the Notifications section where you can toggle individual notification types on and off.

I already see "Enabled" but still do not receive notifications. What should I do?

Tap Update and Test on the Support page. This re-enables notifications and sends a test notification within 20 seconds. If you still do not receive it, check your device settings to ensure notifications are allowed for the BoxMate app.

Can I turn off specific notification types?
